Before you publish

Publishing a trip means you become the trip organiser

If you publish a departure, you are not just posting a listing. You are taking on the responsibility of leading that group and helping people get from β€œinterested” to β€œon the trip.”

What you are responsible for

  • β€’ You are the trip organiser for that departure, and you own the itinerary and schedule β€” what happens each day, in what order, and any changes along the way.
  • β€’ You are responsible for making sure the trip runs smoothly from start to finish.
  • β€’ You set the group size limits and decide how many people the trip can take.
  • β€’ You host the introductory call with everyone joining the group.
  • β€’ You help keep the trip organised, clear, and welcoming for the crew.
  • β€’ Safety and security on the trip is a collective effort shared by the whole group, not something you alone are liable for.
  • β€’ You are not responsible for taking payment from the group β€” each traveller pays their own way directly for flights, accommodation, and activities.

The upside

  • β€’ You earn a commission from each person who joins, which can make your own trip much cheaper β€” and with enough sign-ups, your trip can be effectively free or heavily discounted.
  • β€’ You travel with people you've actually vetted yourself β€” not strangers on a bus β€” and there's a real chance some of them become genuine friends, not just trip mates.
  • β€’ Leading a trip is real, tangible experience in organising and managing a group β€” the kind of thing that stands out on a CV, long before most people your age get the chance to prove it.
  • β€’ The dream trip you've been putting off becomes affordable, at a fraction of what a tour operator would charge for the same route.

Sell it β€” this is your trip

A great departure needs more than a route and a date. Bring some passion and charisma to your description β€” explain why thistrip, why you're the one leading it, and what makes it the best version of this experience on the platform. You're attracting like-minded people, so make it specific to who you actually are: if you care more about hiking and nature than nightlife, say so and lean into it β€” the right people will be drawn to exactly that, and you'll end up with a group that actually gets along.

Important note

  • β€’ You’ll still need a paid membership to publish an active departure once you’re ready to set dates and invite people. All membership fees are non-refundable.
  • β€’ On top of membership, each departure you publish carries its own one-off publishing fee β€” so running several departures at once costs more than running just one.
  • β€’ If you cancel or step down, the other members already signed up will be given the option to become the new trip organiser.
  • β€’ We recommend taking an active role in promoting your trip β€” through friends, schools, colleges, and universities β€” to hit your minimum group size faster.
