1 itinerary · 0 open departures · 0 missions

The Annapurna Region is a dramatic mountain area in north-central Nepal, centred around the Annapurna massif — home to Annapurna I (8,091 m), one of the world's fourteen eight-thousanders. It is one of the most trekked destinations on the planet, best known for the Annapurna Circuit and the Annapurna Base Camp trail, which wind through diverse landscapes ranging from subtropical forests and terraced rice paddies to high-altitude glaciers and arid Himalayan plateaux. The region attracts hikers and trekkers of all levels, as well as paragliders drawn to the skies above Pokhara, the gateway city on the shores of Phewa Lake. Rich in Gurung and Thakali cultural heritage, teahouse-lined trails and jaw-dropping panoramas make it a bucket-list destination for independent adventurers and group expeditions alike.

Missions

Nobody's posted a Mission for Annapurna Region, Nepal yet — which, frankly, is an opportunity.

Wait, what's a Mission? It's not a scheduled trip with dates and a minimum group size like a Departure — it's a goal. Learn to dive, do a Muay Thai camp, live somewhere for a month and work on something, chase one very specific experience. Post it, and other people chasing the same thing find you.

Be the first to post one: "Find the most locally-hated tourist trap and go anyway, unironically, in a costume."
