1 itinerary · 0 open departures · 0 missions

Ausangate is a towering 6,384-metre peak in the Cusco Region of the Peruvian Andes, revered by the Quechua people as one of the most sacred Apus (mountain spirits) in the Andean world. The area is best known for the Rainbow Mountain (Vinicunca) trail and the classic Ausangate Circuit — a multi-day trek that circles the massif through high-altitude passes, glacial lakes, and remote herding communities. Trekkers come for the extraordinary landscapes of coloured mineral mountains, turquoise lagoons, and vast puna grasslands dotted with alpacas and vicuñas. The region hosts the annual Qoyllur Riti festival, one of the largest indigenous pilgrimage gatherings in the Americas.

Missions

Nobody's posted a Mission for Ausangate, Cusco Region, Peru yet — which, frankly, is an opportunity.

Wait, what's a Mission? It's not a scheduled trip with dates and a minimum group size like a Departure — it's a goal. Learn to dive, do a Muay Thai camp, live somewhere for a month and work on something, chase one very specific experience. Post it, and other people chasing the same thing find you.

Be the first to post one: "Eat the strangest thing on the menu every single day for a week and document the regret."
