Classic Balkans: Ljubljana to Sarajevo (Self-Launched)

A 21-day self-launched version of G Adventures' Classic Balkans route, running from Ljubljana through Slovenia's coast and lakes, down the Croatian Adriatic and inland to Mostar, Trebinje and Sarajevo. Instead of a private bus and CEO, you'll use Slovenia's excellent rail and bus network, Croatian intercity buses and ferries, and Bosnia's local buses — booking food tours, cave entry and national park tickets yourself via GetYourGuide/Klook or directly with operators. Roughly £1,050-1,300 per person including accommodation, transport, activities and food, staying in hostels and family guesthouses rather than tour hotels. Costs are approximate and assume shoulder-season (April-June, September-October) travel.
