Bariloche, officially San Carlos de Bariloche, is a city in the Río Negro province of Argentine Patagonia, set dramatically on the southern shore of Lago Nahuel Huapi and surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Andes. It is the gateway to Nahuel Huapi National Park and is widely regarded as the adventure capital of South America, drawing visitors year-round for skiing and snowboarding in winter, and hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, and fly-fishing in summer. The city itself is known for its Swiss-Alpine architecture, world-class chocolate shops, and a lively après-ski culture. Travellers also use Bariloche as a base for the famous Ruta de los Siete Lagos, a scenic road connecting a chain of glacial lakes through northern Patagonia.

Missions

Nobody's posted a Mission for Bariloche, Patagonia yet — which, frankly, is an opportunity.

Wait, what's a Mission? It's not a scheduled trip with dates and a minimum group size like a Departure — it's a goal. Learn to dive, do a Muay Thai camp, live somewhere for a month and work on something, chase one very specific experience. Post it, and other people chasing the same thing find you.

Be the first to post one: "Eat the strangest thing on the menu every single day for a week and document the regret."
