A 16-day self-launched version of Globus's Classical Greece with Idyllic Aegean cruise: the same ancient sites (Acropolis, Mycenae, Epidaurus, Olympia, Delphi, Meteora, Ephesus, Knossos) and the same islands (Rhodes, Crete, Santorini, Mykonos, Milos) — but built from Greek intercity buses, the KTEL network, and fast ferries instead of a coach and cruise ship. You'll stay in hostels and family guesthouses, do the mainland archaeology loop independently (every major site is reachable by bus), and then island-hop the Cyclades and Dodecanese and cross to Kuşadası, Turkey, for Ephesus. Costs are rough backpacker/budget-traveller estimates in GBP and assume dorm or shared-room accommodation, self-catering breakfasts, a mix of taverna meals, and standard ferry/bus fares booked a few weeks ahead.
