Iceland (Laugavegur Trail & Þórsmörk)
1 itinerary · 0 open departures · 0 missions
The Laugavegur Trail is Iceland's most celebrated long-distance hiking route, stretching roughly 55 kilometres from the geothermal highlands of Landmannalaugar to the forested valley of Þórsmörk. The trek passes through some of the country's most dramatic scenery — colourful rhyolite mountains, steaming hot springs, vast lava fields, glaciers, and black sand deserts. Þórsmörk ("Thor's Forest") sits at the trail's southern end, a lush glacial valley hemmed in by the Eyjafjallajökull, Mýrdalsjökull, and Tindfjallajökull ice caps. It's a bucket-list route for experienced hikers and is typically completed over four to five days, with huts and campsites spaced along the way.

Missions
Nobody's posted a Mission for Iceland (Laugavegur Trail & Þórsmörk) yet — which, frankly, is an opportunity.
Wait, what's a Mission? It's not a scheduled trip with dates and a minimum group size like a Departure — it's a goal. Learn to dive, do a Muay Thai camp, live somewhere for a month and work on something, chase one very specific experience. Post it, and other people chasing the same thing find you.
Be the first to post one: "Learn a completely impractical skill from a local — fire spinning, competitive coconut opening, whatever — and become weirdly good at it."
