A 26-day independent version of Sherpa Expedition & Trekking's guided Kanchenjunga Circuit — Nepal's wildest and least-visited giant. Instead of paying for a fully guided group tour, you fly to Bhadrapur/Suketar yourself, arrange a TIMS card + Kanchenjunga Restricted Area Permit and, if you want company, hire a local guide/porter directly in Taplejung or Kathmandu. You walk the classic anti-clockwise circuit from Suketar through Lali Kharka, Yamphudin, the Yalung Glacier to Oktang and Yalung Base Camp, over the Mirgin La to Ghunsa, up the Kanchenjunga Glacier to Pang Pema, then out via Amjilosa and Taplejung. Tea-house lodging, dal bhat and self-navigated trails keep the cost to roughly a fifth of the operator's US$2,999 price. This is a serious high-altitude, low-traffic expedition route — go in the Oct–Nov or Apr–May windows and acclimatise carefully.
