Mount Kilimanjaro, located in northern Tanzania near the Kenyan border, is Africa's highest peak and the world's tallest free-standing mountain, rising to 5,895 metres (19,341 feet) at Uhuru Peak. It is a dormant stratovolcano made up of three volcanic cones — Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira — and is surrounded by Kilimanjaro National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Trekkers from around the world are drawn here to summit the mountain via routes such as the Marangu, Machame, and Lemosho, passing through a remarkable range of ecosystems from rainforest and moorland to alpine desert and glacial summit. No technical climbing experience is required, making it one of the most accessible high-altitude summits on earth and a bucket-list challenge for adventure travellers.

Missions
Nobody's posted a Mission for Kilimanjaro, Tanzania yet — which, frankly, is an opportunity.
Wait, what's a Mission? It's not a scheduled trip with dates and a minimum group size like a Departure — it's a goal. Learn to dive, do a Muay Thai camp, live somewhere for a month and work on something, chase one very specific experience. Post it, and other people chasing the same thing find you.
Be the first to post one: "Find the most locally-hated tourist trap and go anyway, unironically, in a costume."
