Samburu National Reserve, Kenya

1 itinerary · 0 open departures · 0 missions

Samburu National Reserve is a remote wildlife reserve in northern Kenya, situated along the Ewaso Ng'iro River in a semi-arid landscape of dry savannah, acacia woodland, and rugged hills. It is best known for hosting species rarely seen elsewhere in Kenya, including the reticulated giraffe, Grevy's zebra, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx — collectively known as the "Samburu Special Five." The reserve is also home to large populations of elephants, lions, leopards, and crocodiles. Travellers come here for intimate, uncrowded game drives and to experience the rich culture of the Samburu people, a Nilotic pastoralist community closely related to the Maasai.

Missions

Nobody's posted a Mission for Samburu National Reserve, Kenya yet — which, frankly, is an opportunity.

Wait, what's a Mission? It's not a scheduled trip with dates and a minimum group size like a Departure — it's a goal. Learn to dive, do a Muay Thai camp, live somewhere for a month and work on something, chase one very specific experience. Post it, and other people chasing the same thing find you.

Be the first to post one: "Find the most locally-hated tourist trap and go anyway, unironically, in a costume."
