A self-launched 7-day loop through the Indian Himalaya — Gangtok, Namchi, Pelling and Darjeeling — following the same route as Panda Experiences' "Wonderful Northeast" small-group tour, but booked independently. You'll use shared jeeps, local buses and the odd private taxi instead of a tour vehicle, stay in guesthouses and budget hotels, and pick up local guides or bookable day trips for the monasteries, viewpoints and sunrise runs.
