The Tour del Monte Rosa (TMR) is one of the Alps' best-kept secrets — a 100km+ hut-to-hut traverse through Italy and Switzerland beneath the Matterhorn, Dom, Weisshorn and Monte Rosa massif. This self-launched version follows the exact same route as the Much Better Adventures guided trip, swapping the guided group for self-booking your own refuge nights, hiring a local IFMGA guide just for the glacier crossing on Day 7, and travelling independently between trailheads on local buses. The route is well-marked and widely trekked, making it very manageable for confident, experienced hikers. All cost estimates are approximate and per person.
