Verdon Gorge, Provence, France

1 itinerary · 0 open departures · 0 missions

The Verdon Gorge (Gorges du Verdon) in Provence, southeastern France, is one of Europe's most dramatic river canyons, carved up to 700 metres deep through limestone cliffs by the turquoise-green Verdon River. Often called the "Grand Canyon of Europe," it stretches roughly 25 kilometres between the villages of Castellane and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie. The gorge is a magnet for outdoor enthusiasts, drawing climbers, hikers, kayakers, white-water rafters, and paragliders, while the vivid Lac de Sainte-Croix at its western end is popular for swimming and paddleboarding. The surrounding Provençal landscape, with lavender fields and perched hilltop villages, adds to its appeal as one of France's most spectacular natural destinations.

Missions

Nobody's posted a Mission for Verdon Gorge, Provence, France yet — which, frankly, is an opportunity.

Wait, what's a Mission? It's not a scheduled trip with dates and a minimum group size like a Departure — it's a goal. Learn to dive, do a Muay Thai camp, live somewhere for a month and work on something, chase one very specific experience. Post it, and other people chasing the same thing find you.

Be the first to post one: "Eat the strangest thing on the menu every single day for a week and document the regret."
