Deeper into the jungle — the longest day

Reach La Ciudad Perdida — the Lost City
La Ciudad Perdida (The Lost City), Sierra Nevada
The pinnacle of the trip. Rise early and hike the final stretch to the ancient stone steps — all 1,200 of them — that lead up to La Ciudad Perdida. Built by the Tayrona people around 800 AD, this extraordinary archaeological site predates Machu Picchu by roughly 650 years and was only rediscovered in 1975. Explore the 220+ stone terraces surrounded by misty mountain jungle with your guide, who will explain the site's history and spiritual significance. Your group will take part in a small ceremony led by the Wiwa guide. After soaking it all in, begin the return descent back to Camp 2 or Camp 1 for your final night on trail.
