A self-launched 12-day food-focused journey through Morocco, following the same route as Intrepid's guided group tour: from Casablanca's art deco medina through Meknes, the blue streets of Chefchaouen, the ancient medina of Fes, over the Middle Atlas to the Sahara dunes at Merzouga, into the M'Goun Valley for village life and hiking, and finally Marrakech. You'll do it independently using Morocco's excellent train and bus network, riads and guesthouses, and self-bookable cooking classes and food experiences. Expect hands-on couscous and tagine demos, street food trails, a camel trek into the dunes, and plenty of mint tea — at roughly half the operator price.
